Organization meeting March 18th-Savage Hall,room 127, noon-1:30pm. This short course addresses the mechanisms whereby nutrients and metabolic state regulate mammalian chromatic modifications to alter gene expression patterns to maintain homeostasis and survival, and/or influence genome stability. (

Organization meeting TBA. This topic will comprise an introduction to important viruses of biomedical concern, and cover existing and future strategies in drug discovery for these viruses. Viruses will include HIV, herpesviruses, influenza and hepatitis C, among others. The course will link virus replication strategies at both molecular and population levels to the development of effective therapeutics.

Organization Meeting TBA. This minicourse will present fundamental switching mechanisms employed by proteins to alter function in response to a change in environment, such as a phosphorylation event or a change in pH. Examples in which a detailed mechanism is understood at the structural and thermodynamic levels will be highlighted.
