Intended for students with no background in college biology. May not be taken for credit after BIOEE 2780. Does not meet evolutionary biology requirement for biological sciences major.

Prerequisite: one year introductory biology.

Pre- or corequisite: BIOEE 2610.

3-credits with discussion section, two Sat. am field trips, and two essays.

One all day Sat. field trip. 4-5 credit class. 5 credit option involves writing component and 2 disc per wk, limited to 20 students in 5 credit option. Students may not preregister in 5-credit option; interested students complete application first day of class.

Limited to 24 students. Students must have permission of instructor. Course is taken during summer at Shoals Marine Lab; enroll for credit during Fall 2009. Fee: $2,426. Daily and evening lec, labs, and field work.

One saturday field trip.

Specific topic changes each year. Limited to 18 students.

Designed as on-campus companion course to the field-based BIOEE 3730.

Prerequisites: previous enrollment in course to be taught or equivalent. Note: Arts students may not count this course toward graduation but may, upon petition (one time only) to their class dean, carry fewer than 12 other credits and remain in good standing. This would affect Dean?s List eligibility but not eligibility for graduating with distinction. S?U or letter grades by permission of instructor.

Year long course. Students register for 6610 in the fall and 6611 in the spring. An R grade will be given in the fall and a grade is given for the course in the Spring. 3 credits each semester is given with 6 total credits awarded for the course. Limited to 12 students. Prerequisite: permission of instructor.
